Before, I used to only use the automatic settings...

But camera's arent that hard to play around with. So far, I know how to change the aperture size and the shutter settings. The aperture controls how much light to go into the camera per during exposure and the shutter controls how long you want to expose...

Shutter... the larger the number the more light
more shutter -> more exposure
less shutter -> less exposure
*e.g. 1/1000 has less light than 1/500

F-stop (Aperture)... the smaller the number (larger the circle) the more light
more aperture -> more exposure
less aperture -> less exposure
*e.g. F4 has more light than F2.8

You can get 'shadow' images, blurs by increasing shutter size -but you need to use a high F-stop to get less aperture to prevent overexposure...
